Allen G. "Woody" Wood, Sr age 77 of Oxford, PA passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday August 20, 2013 after a length illness. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn D. McQuade Wood.
Born in Hopewell, PA he was the son of the Late Allen D. and Frances McMichael Wood.

Allen proudly served his country and is a veteran of the United States Army. Allen was a Vice President in banking having worked for more than 38 years in the industry. He was a 50 plus year member of The Union Fire Company No.1 of Oxford, PA serving as a Past President and Director, member of the American Legion, F.O.E and past member of the Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce.

Allen is survived by his loving family, wife Evelyn D. Wood of Oxford, PA, son, Allen, Jr (Vietta), daughter, Martha Rogers (Edwin) of Tenn., son, Christopher (Samantha), son, Michael (Donna), 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

For all of us at Mt. Vernon, please know that we are thinking of you and praying for you. Woody (Allen Sr.) was a blessing to many of us, in many ways. He engaged his family and the community with enthusiasm! May you experience God's comfort in the midst of this time of loss - a time of sorrow that is nevertheless filled with hope. God be with you!
