Music by The Piano Brothers

Surrounded by loved ones, Joseph (Joe) Tercha Jr. went to his eternal life, at age 91, on September 26, 2019. He is survived and remembered by his loving wife of 67 years, Naomi (Sibert) Tercha, daughter Cynthia Tercha, daughter Susan Tercha Minsker (husband, Mike), granddaughter, Ashley Minsker Potecha (husband, Jamie), great-grandchildren Anya and Jameson Potecha, brotherJohn Tercha ( wife, Joanne), sister Emily Tercha Worst (husband, Robert), many nieces, nephews, spouses, loved ones, and many others who knew Joe as their very great friend. Born on November 16, 1927 in Chester, PA to the late Joseph and Sophia Tercha, Joe was graduated from Pennsylvania Military College in 1949 and served as a Captain in the Army for eight years. Following this, Joe worked in the Kennett Square mushroom industry for more than 40 years: first as Vice President of Oxford Royal Mushroom Company , then as Executive Vice President of Brandywine Mushroom Company and then as principal of Tercha Enterprises, which became an international business. For the remainder of his life Joe enjoyed communicating with and mentoring lifelong friends in this industry. Joe was a gregarious person with a compassionate heart, a warm smile, and a talent for making others feel welcome and at ease. Joe’s life embodied his Catholic faith, his heritage, his love for family and his desire to lift the spirits of whoever might cross his path. Whether through one of his jokes, his funny stories, or his contagious laugh, this “Polish Prince” spent his life uplifting others. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at St. Patrick Church (address below). A Mass will follow at 11:AM with a private internment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square, PA. 99248, or to Willow Tree Hospice, 616 East Cypress Street, #2470, Kennett Square, PA 19348
