Music by The Piano Brothers

Edna Marie Aragon a.k.a Marie was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 12,1944 to Edna May and Joseph Kane. She was born and raised, along with her two brothers Richard and John (aka Jack) in West Philadelphia, right along with their cousin Patricia. In 1962, she graduated from Bartram High School and worked from banking in retail to secretary throughout the rest of the sixties, until she met Jose Aragon and married him in Spain in 1969. In 1972, she became pregnant with her only child, Christina(me). Unfortunately not long she and Jose parted ways and she raised her daughter as a single mother the best she could do. It was from her strength and resilience that got her raising her only child(along with help from her mother and great aunt) as best as she could in a time where being a single mother wasn’t easy. In 1982, Marie took her daughter and they lived in Secane until her mother’s death in 2004. Then in 2006, Marie and Christina decided to take a chance and moved to their current home of Oxford, PA. Survivors include: her daughter, who spent the last few years taking care of her as best she could at home; a goddaughter, Michelle Quinn, also of Oxford and her three children Meghan Hostetter, Marissa Strichler and Matthew Quinn; her elder brother Jack and his daughters, Kelly Hartraft and Colleen Ferzetti and their families. A younger brother, Richard, who is recuperating himself from surgery in Florida...and the many countless people that she’s met and influenced along the way, including how she had taught a whole generation of teenagers(my friends) that everything will be okay in the end….and was the one everyone went to. She loved giving out advice, telling old stories about Philly, dancing(when she could), shopping and all of the talks at night she’d had with her daughter. In her honor, go out after this, put on your best sweat shirt and sweatpants or shorts and just sing along to the radio as loud as you can…. C. Aragon
