"Frank"

March 27, 1934 – September 2, 2020

 

 

 

Frank J. Hilbert, age 86, of Springfield, PA, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Wednesday, September 2, 2020.  

Frank is predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Frances Hilbert and his brothers and sisters, Agnes Gosk, Alfred Hilbert, and Rita King. He is survived by his wife Claire and his three daughters, Kathy (Chad), Linda, and Christine (Drew). He loved spending time with his four grandchildren, Alyssa, Bryce and Teagan Sweeney along with his step grandchild, Elizabeth.  

He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. 

Frank graduated from West Catholic High School in 1952 and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Saint Joseph’s University. He received a master’s from Drexel University.

He was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy and was active duty from 1956 – 1958.  

Frank worked at Arco Chemical for forty-four years, starting at the refinery at age 18 and later working in the chemical labs.  He retired from the company as a literature chemist in 1996. 

Frank had great faith and was an active member of St. Dorothy’s Parish.

The viewing will be held at Saint Dorothy’s church, 4910 Township Line Rd, Drexel Hill, PA 19026, on Saturday, September 5 from 9:30 – 10:30 am immediately followed by a mass at 10:30 am ET.  The mass will be followed by a graveside service at St. Peter and Paul’s cemetery at 1600 S. Sproul Road, Springfield, PA 19064.  All relatives and friends are welcome. 

Out of respect and safety for all those attending, masks should be worn and social distancing followed.
