Geoffrey F. Harper

1946 - 2020

Geoffrey Francis Harper, 74, of West Chester, PA passed away on October 15, 2020 peacefully at home surrounded and   comforted by his wife and children. Geoff was born on September 1, 1946 in Bryn Mawr, PA and was raised in Ardmore where he attended St. Denis Parish school. Geoff went on to attend Monsignor Bonner High School, and St. Joseph’s University where he earned his business degree. Veteran, beloved father and husband, Geoff relished every opportunity he had to spend time with his family. In October of 1980, Geoff married Debbie and they began their married life in Springfield before moving to West Chester. Geoff’s primary focus for the next 40 years was his family and the game of golf which he loved to play with his friends and sons. Throughout his many years playing golf, Geoff was a member of Penn Oaks Golf Club and Hershey’s Mill Golf Club. Geoff was a loving husband and father who instilled a sense of family, resiliency and loyalty in each of his children. Geoff earned himself the nickname “Happy,” as he was known to his friends and family throughout his life. “Happy,” as a nickname, speaks volumes to who he was as a person and his demeanor. Geoff had a true pride in his Irish heritage as his mother, Mary, immigrated from County Mayo. Geoff was witty, smart and full and stories. Through his entire life, Geoff was devoted to his faith and longtime parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church in West Chester. Geoff is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary (nee Walsh) Harper and his brothers John, Joe, Jim and Tom Harper. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Debbie (nee Carr) Harper, his three children, Keith, Geoffrey and Jillian (Sean) Quinn, and his three grandchildren, Michael, Russell and Harper Quinn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Each and every member of his family hold him near and dear to their hearts. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday October 20,2020 from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at St.Agnes Church 233 W Gay Street, West Chester, PA 19380, his Funeral Mas will follow at 11:00AM. Interment is Private. Donations in his memory may be made to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org).

My deepest sympathy to Debbie and Family. I only met Geoff once but from Debbie's stories and the words of his friends at today's service I'm sure that I would have really like him.
