Edward Asher Wilson II
March 5, 1969 – December 30, 2020
Beloved father, son, and brother, Edward Asher Wilson II, age 51, passed away suddenly in Earleville, Maryland on December 30, 2020. He was born in Philadelphia on March 5, 1969.
Ed grew up in North Wilmington, Delaware, graduated from Concord High School in 1987 and earned a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts in 1991. He was a retired IT executive. He sported a lush retirement (and then pandemic) beard!
A ready smile and great sense of humor made him the fun-loving center of any gathering, yet he was a kind, caring, helpful and generous soul. Ed had a witty though many times irreverent rejoinder for every situation. He loved deep conversation, good books, and long walks on the North Wildwood beach. Ed was an avid music lover and had an extensive digital collection in a variety of genres. Other favorite pastimes included sailing, skiing, tennis, and golf. He did the Washington Post crossword daily. But - it was his two children that really brought joy to his life.
Ed leaves behind his bereft family and friends: daughter Casey Wilson of Arlington, Virginia, son Jared Wilson and best friend and former wife Sara Wilson of West Palm Beach, Florida, parents Ed and Linda (Bolesta) Wilson of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, sister Kelley Wilson [Kurt Engleman] and niece Katherine Engleman of Avondale, Pennsylvania, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, including dear friend since childhood, David Rohrbacher of Sarasota, Florida. He brought much sunlight into the lives of all who loved him and his loss leaves a space in their hearts that will never be filled. Ed is gone far too soon.
A private celebration of Ed’s life is planned to commit his ashes to the sea in recognition of his expressed wishes and love for the water.
