Mrs. Marjorie “Marie” Boyd, daughter of the late John Mitchell Vaughan and Zella Roberts Vaughan was born on August 31, 1930, in West Grove, Pennsylvania.  She was a graduate of Avon Grove High School and also loved playing sports. In her later years she also enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially baseball and football.  
During her life she worked in banking and was an active Real Estate agent. She finished her working career at 88 years old as a beloved cashier at Martins Grocery Store in Rising Sun, MD where everyone knew her as “Ms. Marie”.  
She was married to Charles William Boyd, Sr. in June of 1948, and they were married for 61 years. Charles Boyd, Sr. preceeded her in death on May 13, 2009. They had 3 children, Linda, Chuck and Gregg.
Marie was an active member of the Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church in Nottingham, Pennsylvania. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many in the community.  Her Christian life was as cherished as her love of music.  Her favorite songs were “Victory in Jesus” and “What a friend we have in Jesus”.  She also loved playing the piano and reading her Bible.  Her influences will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.  She quietly departed this life Tuesday April 16, 2024, at the age of 93.  
She was preceeded in death by brother, John Vaughan, brother Robert Vaughan, brother, William Vaughan, sister, Louise Vanhorn, sister, Margaret Duncan, brother Joe Vaughan, and brother, James Vaughan.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Linda Boyd Bouchelle, son-in-law Walter Bouchelle of North East, MD, Charles Boyd, Jr., daughter-in-law Diane Boyd of Quarryville, PA, and Gregg Boyd, daughter-in-law Alicia Boyd of Perryville, MD;  Six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Also survived by her sister Betty Lattanzio of Oxford, PA, and sister Patricia Lilly of Blue Field, West Virginia.
Viewing and Services will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Nottingham Missionary Baptist Church in Nottingham, PA.  The viewing will take place at 10 am followed by Services at 11 am.  Luncheon to follow after burial service.
