Alice Ann (Wichhart) Moroney

Alice A. Wichhart Moroney, 91, of Oxford, PA passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025 with her family by her side.  Alice was the loving wife of Frank C. Moroney, who previously passed in November 2020, and with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.  Born in Lincoln University, PA Alice was the daughter of the late Arthur and Violet Wichhart of Lincoln University, PA.  

Alice was a homemaker and small business owner along with Frank Moroney, Inc. for 56 years.

Alice was a former Sunday School teacher at Manor Presbyterian Church for over thirty years, a member of the Green Thumb Garden Club, and Women’s Auxiliary of the National Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors. In addition, she was a member of the Russellville Grange for the past 75 years.

Alice was an avid gardener.  Alice enjoyed traveling with Frank, with some of their favorite adventures taking them to Hawaii, Alaska, Spain, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Yellowstone.   More than anything she loved her family.  Alice’s kind heart and her readiness to offer a kind word or gesture truly made her special.  Her warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Alice is survived by her beloved brother, Charlie Wichhart, and four children Terry Moroney (Mary Lynn), Karen Williams, Steven Moroney (Nancy J.), and Nancy K. Moroney, six grandchildren John Moroney, Matthew Moroney, Alison Moroney, Anthony Moroney, Justin Williams and Dillon Williams, and three great grandchildren, Jase, Ryder and Charlie. She was preceded in death by her siblings Jeannette Chilcoat, Margaret Wang, and Dale Wichhart, and son-in-law, David Williams.

Friends and family may visit from 9:00 am to 11:00 amMonday, July 7, 2025 at the Ruffenach Family Funeral Home, 224 Penn Avenue, Oxford, with a funeral service immediately following.  Interment will be held at the Oxford Cemetery.
