     Anne “Nancy” Kearney (nee Hamilton) died peacefully at age 99 on April 21st. She is predeceased by her loving husband Richard and survived by her four children Richard (Jean) Kearney, Anne (Henry) Spratt, Eileen (Michael) Stewart, and Denise Kearney; grandchildren Maureen, Sean, and Maggie Stewart, and Catherine and Richard Spratt; and great grandson Teddy Lacayo-Spratt.

     Nancy grew up in Southwest Philadelphia, attending school at St Gabriel and West Catholic High School. She met Richard “Dick” Kearney at a dance; it was a blind date organized by her aunt and Dick’s aunt. They married shortly after Dick returned from WWII, and moved in with Dick’s parents on Lombard Street. After moving to their first home in Upper Darby, along with Nancy’s mother, they welcomed Richard Jr. Five years and many prayers later, they welcomed Anne to their new home in Springfield. Eileen and Denise followed shortly thereafter. Nancy and Dick were charter members in the newly opened St Kevin parish, and were active in parish and school activities. When her kids were in high school, Nancy went to work as a secretary at Villanova Law School where she worked for 12 years. She lost her dear husband at age 67, but had just begun her new favorite role as Grandmom. Nancy remained in Springfield in St Kevin parish until age 92. She spent her last few years at Riddle Village and suffered no serious illness. 

     Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation Friday 9-10:15am at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026 where her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am.

     Interment will follow Mass at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. The family invites everyone to lunch at the Springfield Country Club. You can join the family at the cemetery first, or go directly to the Country Club.
