Arlene E. Hershey

Arlene E. Hershey, age 104, of Quarryville, PA died on Monday, December 23, 2024, after a brief illness.

Born in West Lampeter Township, Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harrison B. and Anna Yingling Eshleman and wife of the late Ephraim E. Hershey who died in 2007.  She was a resident of Quarryville Presbyterian Home for the past nine years.  Prior to that she resided in the Oxford area.

Arlene was a homemaker for many years before working at Pepperidge Farms, Downingtown, for ten years before retiring in 1984.  She ran the Log House Bed and Breakfast out of her home for 25 years prior to moving to Quarryville. This was her greatest joy.  She was a member of Gateway Church and loved serving others.

Surviving Arlene are her son Donald L. (husband of Judy) Hershey, of Oxford, PA, a daughter Kathleen F. (wife of James) Laidlaw of Port St. Lucie, FL, 5 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Ida Gehman, and two brothers, Glenn Y. Eshleman and Raymond J. Eshleman.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 31 at 11:00 AM at Gateway Church, 160 Cowan Rd., Parkesburg, PA 19365.
