Betty Anne Jung

1926 -2022

Betty Jung, loving spouse, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, passed peacefully on April 4, 2022, at Merrill Gardens Senior Living Community in Glen Mills, PA.  

 

Born in 1926 in Philadelphia, Betty was the daughter of Wi Yip and Jung Shee Louie and grew up with her eight siblings William, Robert, Jane, Harry, Mary, Eleanor, Helen and Samuel.  She married her beloved husband, George, in 1947 and enjoyed spending time with their relatives and friends; in Philadelphia’s Chinatown, moving to the Oxford Circle area in 1961, and then the Glen Mills area as of 1998.

 

Betty is survived by her three children Dennis (Marilyn), Donald (Dorothy), and Patricia Kutys (James), nine grandchildren Pamela        (Rod), David (deceased), Angela (Patrick), Gregory, Kenneth (Courtney), Daniel, Stephen, Christine (Christian), and Catherine, five great-grandchildren Ellie, Rod, Nate, Ben, and Alex, one surviving sibling (Harry Louie), one surviving brother-in-law (Harry Jung) and three surviving sisters-in-law (Ruth Louie, Shiu and Pauline Jung). Betty was predeceased by her husband George in 1993.

 

Betty passed peacefully, surrounded both physically and spiritually, by her loving family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Betty’s memory to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Glen Mills, PA or Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic Church, 915 Vine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107

 

A viewing will be held Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 10:30am - 11:45am, followed by Mass at 12:00pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Church (430 Valleybrook Road. Glen Mills, PA 19342). Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W. Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19150 next to her beloved husband, George.
