Billie Jo Gill Obituary

Billie Jo Gill, 87 of Trainer Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on May 5th 2023 surrounded by family.

Billie Jo was born on December 13th 1935 to John and Sarah Charles in Hargett Kentucky. After the passing of Billie Jo’s parents she relocated to Delaware County Pennsylvania where she eventually graduated from Eddystone High School.

After graduating Billie Jo went on to work at Crozer Chester Medical Center where she was involved first with patient transport before finding the job she retired from as a Mail Clerk after 25 years of service.

Billie Jo was a devoted wife to Robert Gill with whom she had three wonderful children Terry, Robert and John. Billie Jo was a true beacon of light in the family she and Robert created, she was the glue that always held everything together, the shoulder to cry on, the helping hand, the comforter. Billie Jo was and always will be the best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that her family could have ever asked for.

Billie Jo after retirement gave her time and enjoyed volunteering at her grandchildren’s school “Our Lady of Charity” where she became like a grandmother to all of the children she encountered. Billie Jo also enjoyed bowling with various bowling leagues while accompanied in play by her husband and children. Billie Jo was also an avid gardener always maintaining and nurturing her many plants and vegetables in the same way she nurtured and cared for her family.

Billie Jo in addition to her parents and siblings was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Raymond Gill Jr. who died in 2007, her beloved son Robert Michael Gill who died in 2003, her beloved son in law Joseph E. Durham who died in 2017 and her beloved grandson Justin Ray Durham who died in 1993. She is survived by her children Terry Durham and John (Beverly) Gill, her grandchildren Randy (Alisha) Ford, Jeffrey (Alicia) Gill, Sarah (Vince) Wendowski and Jamey Jo Durham, and her great grandchildren Randy Ford Jr., Hunter Ford, Victoria Hudson and Mackenzie O’Brien.
