Carol A. Boerckel
1933 - 2022
Born 1933 in West Philadelphia, the youngest of 6 children of Irish Immigrants Vincent and Mary Finley.
Carol attended St. Rose of Lima Elementary School. She was voted May Queen in the 8th grade procession. Graduating class of 1953 West Catholic Girls High School.
Carol and her ‘Sorority Sisters’ have been life-long friends. She loved them deeply.
Raising their families together and always being there for each other.
She went on to meet the love of her life, Joe, at the offices of Finneran and Haily Paints, Joe’s family business.
Joe and Carol married in 1956 and moved to Upper Darby. Raising five children in a neighborhood filled with good friends. Cookouts up the corner. Getting away to the Shore for a week every summer.
After her husband died in 1996, Carol did some volunteer work at Delaware County Hospital and worked at the convent at Villa Maria Academy.
Since moving to her last apartment she made great friends with her new neighbors. Caring people who were such a help in the end. Carol passed peacefully with her daughters by her side.
She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years and their son Eric. Survived by her children Joanne (John Oldrati), Maureen (Joel Harris), Joe and Carolanne. 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation Friday, June 10th 9 AM - 10:15 AM at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026, where Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
