Catherine M. Crothers
1977 – 2026
Catherine M. “Cassie” Crothers, of Delaware County, died January 28th, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was the loving daughter of the late Barbara J. (nee McBride) and the late John F. Crothers, Sr. She is survived by her siblings: James (Patricia) Williams, John F. (Jennifer) Crothers, and Colleen Crothers. She is also survived by nieces: Corinna, Alexandra, Meagan, and nephew Brian. Also, survived by great nieces, a great nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Cassie was born with Muscular Dystrophy, but she never once let it stop her from achieving all of her goals. She graduated with honors from Penncrest High School, and went on to attend Delaware County Community College, West Chester University, and University of Phoenix, where she graduated with honors with a B.A. in Communications.
Cassie was an excellent communicator, a wonderful listener, and she made and kept friends easily wherever she went. She loved listening to music (classic rock and 80s pop were her favorites), watching the Phillies play, enjoying a diet Coke, learning new makeup techniques, and watching movies with her friends. For the past two years, Cassie was a resident of Fair Acres, where she thrived. She attended socials, sang karaoke with friends, was a proud member of the Comic Club, went on trips, and dominated the weekly Bingo games. She was immensely loved by all who lived and worked there.
Above all else, Cassie was an avid animal lover with a passion for helping rescued cats. Nothing made her smile more than getting to pet the dogs and cats that she encountered and helping animals in need.
Cassie was an incredibly strong and courageous woman who was the backbone of her family. She was compassionate, hilarious, motivated, intelligent, and she was always the first to help anyone in need. She will be dearly missed and always remembered by her family and friends.
