     Catherine M (nee Murphy) Huyette.  Cathy passed away in a peaceful sleep at her home on her mother’s birthday and the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima. Cathy was born and lived in Southwest Philadelphia and attended MBS and West Catholic. And then married and lived with her husband Dan in their Havertown home for over 50 years. 

She is predeceased by her parents Pat and Marguerite and her brother Chris and is survived by her husband Dan, her brothers Pat, Joe, Jim, Bill, Kevin and Paul and her sister Marguerite, and by many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.  

      Cathy started her work career at North American Brass and Aluminum in Philadelphia and then worked for Bell Telephone, Bell Atlantic and Verizon for 30 years retiring at 55.  Early in her career Cathy was named Miss Bell Telephone and held various management titles working in the corporate headquarters.  Initially, working in the Special Accounts Department, as the primary account representative for The City of Philadelphia and then with PAC attorneys traveling and meeting politicians throughout Pennsylvania and then coordinating and scheduling a company-wide quality audit and then organizing and administering a company wide recognition and rewards program and over the years rode in a limo with the President of Bell Atlantic to the awards dinners.  

     Cathy most of all loved spending time at home and hosting family gatherings and her famous tree day parties.  She also enjoyed her vacations to Hilton Head Island (20 consecutive years), as well as frequent trips to Cape May, California, Sedona, Bermuda, and the Caribbean. 

     She wanted to make sure to let you all know that she was grateful to all her friends who were always there for her and for their faithful thoughts and prayers.  You meant more to her than you could ever imagine. 

       Her viewing will be held at 9:30 Monday morning May 22, 2023 at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026.  Followed by Mass beginning at 10:30. Interment will be following Mass at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery. Cathy requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cathy’s memory to St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026.
