1960 -2022

     Cathleen M. Collins  (nee DeMaio) age 62 of Springfield, died October 3, 2022 after a courageous battle with metastatic lung cancer. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Emma (nee Potter) DeMaio. Cathie is  survived by her beloved husband of 39 years Michael Ray Collins, her brother Bob (Anne) DeMaio, sisters Vickie (Bob) Richards and Terrie (Jerry) Gannon. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

    Cathie was born and raised in Upper Darby attending St. Cyril School and Archbishop Prendergast High School. Cathie was a gifted dancer and shared her gift with thousands in her lifetime. Cathie owned Cathie Collins School of Dance in Aldan and Glen Mills since 1984 mentoring many to continue her legacy. Cathie also choreographed the Monsignor Bonner and Archbishop Prendergast Fall and Spring Shows for years impacting countless high school students. Cathie enjoyed many things in life but most of all sitting on the beach and listening to music with her husband, going out to dinner and seeing shows especially with her family friends and her beloved cats.     

     Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing 6-8pm on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at the Ruffenach Funeral Home, 4900 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026 and Monday, October 10, 2022 from 12:30-1:15pm at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 136 Saxer Avenue, Springfield Pennsylvania 19064 where her Funeral Mass will follow at 1:30pm. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated .
