Obituary

Darryl Wendt, 86, of Oxford, PA, died Wednesday, March 29. Darryl was born in Rahway, NJ, March 13, 1937, son of the late Edward and Corinne Hunt Wendt. Darryl was a 1956 graduate of Roxbury High School.

 

Darryl worked at New York Life Insurance Company in Murray Hill, NJ, Alcoa in Massena, NY, Ingersoll Rand in Painted Post, NY and Atlantic City Medical Center in Atlantic City, NJ.

 

He served in the United States Army and Air Force National Guards for 20 years.

 

He enjoyed spending time with family, working on his car and traveling. He kept active by swimming, hiking and boating, and he ran the Wine Glass Marathon twice in the Finger Lakes. He loved family vacations to Lake George, NY, Lamoka Lake, NY and Atlantic City, NJ.

 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings Herb (Catherine) Wendt, Wes (Izetta) Wendt, and Maurine (Skip) Peterson.

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Inez, daughter Michele (Charles) Vickery III of Oxford, PA and son Darren (Natalia) Wendt of Canton, GA. He was a loving grandfather to Danielle (Christopher) Baldwin, Charles (Caitlin) Vickery IV, Alex Skachkov, Nicole Wendt and Steven Wendt, along with great granddaughter Anna.
