Dino Mancini Obituary

Dino Edwin Mancini

September 25, 1936 - June 11, 2023

Dino Edwin Mancini September 25, 1936 – June 11, 2023.  Dino (Ed) left this world early Sunday morning, sleeping peacefully. He is predeceased by his father, Dino Mancini, his mother Anna May Mancini (Schillinger), and most recently by his wife of 61 years, Angeline, who passed just one month ago.  He is survived by their loving children Maria Touchton (Scott) and Dino D. Mancini (Kristen), his four grandchildren Joseph Touchton, Natalie Mancini, Noelle Mancini, and Nina Mancini, and his brother-in-law Joseph Papa (Marylee). Dino will be remembered as an adoring husband, a doting father, devoted grandfather, and a hard worker.

As a young man, he was a competitive weightlifter, football player, and served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and US Army Reserves.  He took a job as a furniture mover and it was there that he met Angeline, who was also working at her cousin’s furniture store. The rest, as they say, is history.  They were inseparable in life, and in death. Dino’s professional career started as a technical writer, working as a government contractor.  He worked for companies such as GE and RCA writing technical manuals for many of the highest priority space and defense programs of the day, including the first re-entry vehicle of the Apollo space missions.  He even lived and worked in Greenland for a time.

In 1988, Dino decided to start his own business and TDI was born.  Dino put his heart and soul into his company working alongside his wife.  Today, TDI is still a thriving business that has grown and is currently run by his son.

Through it all, he still managed to prioritize his family by coaching his son’s teams and staying involved in his daughter’s studies, both of whom followed in his footsteps and became successful engineers.

Dino was always devoted to his family but once grandkids came along, he did not want to miss a thing! From attending concerts and performances to never missing a softball game, Dino was simply a wonderful and loving grandfather.

He will truly be remembered as a fascinating storyteller, a smart man, and the ultimate family man who always put his wife, kids, and grandkids first. Dino will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, but he is where he always wanted to be, reunited with his beloved Angeline.

Family and friends are invited to visitation at Ruffenach Funeral Home (4900 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA) on Monday, June 19th from 8:30am to 10:00am. A Catholic Mass in celebration of his life will follow at 10:30am at Saint Dorothy’s Church (4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill).
