1927 - 2021

On October 31, 2021, a resident of Springfield, Delaware County, PA for over 65 years. Don was born in Fairview, New Jersey and moved to Llanerch, PA at an early age. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School and was a graduate of West Catholic High School for boys, class of 1944 and Villanova College, class of 1950.  Don served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean conflict. He worked at the Westinghouse Lester Plant for 40 years in Human Resources, specializing in retirement benefits, before retiring in 1992. Don was an avid reader, enjoyed laughing, tending his flower gardens and was renowned for his Christmas decorating skills. He loved traveling, sharing moments with his children and grandchildren and serving his church community.  He was a member of St. Dorothy’s Parish for over 65 years where he was a lector, usher, Eucharistic Minister and assisted in many other parish activities. Don was the son of Richard C. Jordan, Sr and Grace Frebe Jordan. Don’s loving wife of 65 years, Jane Bessinger Jordan, passed away in 2020. He is survived by his son Donald, Jr., and his daughters Janine Jordan Mueller (Thomas), Danielle O’Neil (William) and Marcella Jordan Trowern (Steven) and 15 loving grandchildren. He is predeceased by his daughters Mary Therese in 1973 and Andrea Grace in 2014; his two brothers Richard Jr., (Doris) and John (Marie); and sister G. Nancy Jacquette (Raymond).  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10:30 on Thursday, November 11 at St. Dorothy’s Church in Drexel Hill.  Visitation will precede Mass at 9:00. Donald’s interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Sister Servant IHM Camilla Hall or St Dorothy’s Church.
