Dorothy E. Benzenhafer 

1958 – 2025

    Dorothy E. Benzenhafer, age 67, of Morton passed away September 8, 2025. She was predeceased by her parents the late Thomas and Dorothy (nee Sweeney) Benzenhafer and her sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Jim Kaufman. She is survived by her loving daughters Brittany (Joseph) Simpson and Kayla Scheckel; grandchildren Caitlyn, Evelyn, David and Douglas; and her cat Gigi. 

     She was born in the greater Philadelphia area and while she spent most of her life in New Jersey, she happily returned to her birthplace at the end of her life. Dottey loved participating in the Society for Creative Anachronisms, making stained glass, and spending time with her grandchildren, and Gigi.  During her brief retirement she enjoyed volunteering with the VFW in honor of her late father and had plans to volunteer at a local animal shelter. 

     She was a founding member of the SCA group Timberwolfe Household, with whom she spent over thirty years celebrating and enjoying life together. The Household she helped create was her chosen family, and the memories she made during that time became a highlight of her life. 

     Relatives and friends are invited to her Life Celebration on beginning at 12pm on October 18, 2025 at Hanrahans Irish Pub in Drexel Hill, Pa.
