Edwin H. Murdoch III

Edwin H. Murdoch III passed away after an extended nursing home stay in Elkton, MD, at the age of 85 on December 17, 2022.

Edwin is survived by his brother, Peter Murdoch, who currently lives in Brick, NJ; his daughters: Nancy Lowe of Brockton, MA, Susan Wehmeyer of Oxford, PA, and Judith Perez of Billerica, MA; his sons: Edwin H. Murdoch IV of Casselberry, FL, Robert Murdoch of Byhalia, MS, John Murdoch of Smyrna, TN, and Dan Murdoch of Kingston, TN. Edwin is also survived by nine grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.  Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Murdoch, who passed away in 2015, his sister, Helen Thompson, and brother James Murdoch. Edwin was born in Neptune, New Jersey on April 15, 1937 to parents, Alice and Edwin H. Murdoch II. After retiring as a produce manager at A&P, he was a driver for the Circulation Department of the Asbury Park Press and drove tour buses into New York City and Philadelphia.  Edwin also earned an AA Degree in Paralegal Studies from Brookdale Community College and became a Magistrate for Monmouth County, NJ.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Atonement Lutheran Church in Asbury Park, NJ on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm.  The service will be available live to view online.

In lieu of flowers, Edwin’s family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association or ASPCA.
