Elaine Katherine (Kelly) Mahoney

Elaine Mahoney ( née Kelly) formerly of Havertown residing in Springfield, passed away peacefully on July 18th.  Elaine grew up in Upper Darby, attending Stonehurst Hills Elementary and Upper Darby High school. She was involved in many activities in high school but one in particular was being a color guard in the band.  

Elaine had three loving daughters who she dedicated her life to raising .  From taking them to the shore and the car always breaking down or going to basketball games Elaine never missed a beat.  

Elaine married the love of her life, Jack  in 1984.  Jack and Elaine enjoyed traveling especially to Ocean City, NJ.  They would spend many summers where they enjoyed going to the beach and eating at the Crab Trap.  Elaine found pleasure watching her grandchildren playing sports and cheering for them. 

Elaine worked at Villanova University, food service dept. at St. Mary’s Hall where she made many friends and put Villanova at the top of her favorite sports team.  

Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Jack and her two loving daughters Kathy (David) Ransone, Suzanne (Harry) Kane.  Predeceased daughter Sharon Breslin.
She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Nicholas, Michael, Morgan and many more relatives and friends.  

Death can end a life, but can never end a love. 

Relatives and friends are welcome to her viewing on Tuesday, July 26th from 9-10am ; at St. Dorothy’s Church followed by the funeral service at 10:30am.  

In lieu of flowers donations in Elaine’s memory to St. Dorothy’s school, Drexel Hill, Pa. would be appreciated.
