Emily Gerasimoff Obituary

EMILY GERASIMOFF

Age 76, passed away on July 19, 2024. She was born on November 18, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA. Beloved mother of Sharon Marie and son-in-law James Orr. Survived by her siblings Catherine Kavalkovich, Dorothy Makara, Anna Coan, and Edward and Paul Gerasimoff; also many nieces, nephews and their families and Godchildren.

Emily was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School and Rosemont College, Rosemont, PA. She retired from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in Philadelphia after 42 years of service and a member of U.S. Community Partnership Team, where she represented GSK in the Philadelphia community. The degree to which she touched all who worked along side of her is a tribute to her loving and down to earth nature. Emily enjoyed the simple things in life: reading, sitting on the beach, taking long walks to “feel the wind on her face” or spending time with family and friends. Emily was a lifelong dedicated parishioner of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church in Philadelphia, where she volunteered her time and resources to help when needed. In addition, she had served as an evening volunteer at a local hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Wednesday July 24, 2024 at 9 A.M., Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church, 28th Street and Snyder Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19145. "Fought her battle with cancer with courage and grace."

"Win with humility, lose with grace, and do both with dignity."

"Most plans are not for us to decide, we must ask for grace to accept them."
