It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Frances on September 16, 2021 at Abbey Manor in Elkton, Maryland.
Frances A. Smyth McCummings was a lifelong resident of the Nottingham and Oxford areas. She was the daughter of James F. Smyth and Ebba Johnson Smyth. Frances was predeceased by her loving husband Edward L. McCummings, her eldest son James E. McCummings and her brothers Joseph, John and Edward Smyth. Surviving family members include her sister Mary Bledsoe, her children Jan Andress (Spencer), Thomas McCummings, Elaine Pinno (John V. III) and Kathleen McCummings. Surviving grandchildren Lisa Andress Beideman (Ed), Scott Andress, Brandon McCummings (Jessica), Bradley McCummings, John V. Pinno IV (Lisa), Jordan Pinno (Erin), Stacey Pinno Maurer (Dillon) and Yuri Edward Scarr. Frances also leaves behind 9 beautiful great grandchildren Halle Becker, Andi Beideman, Kendal Andress, Luke Andress, Tessa McCummings, Heidi McCummings, Caleb Pinno, Jack Pinno and baby Maurer.
Frances was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, canning fresh fruits and vegetables and watercolor painting. She was a devoted lifelong parishioner of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Frances also enjoyed baseball and was a devoted fan of the Phillies. She attended many of her grandchildren's games over the years.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial services on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the Sacred Heart Church 203 Church Road Oxford, PA 19363. Viewing and visitation begins at 10 AM. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM. Burial at Union Cemetery 321 Fremont Road Nottingham, PA 19362. A luncheon will follow at the Sacred Heart Church Hall. All are welcome.
