Francis “Fran” Downey, Jr.

1957 – 2025

         Francis “Fran” Downey, age 67, of Havertown passed away suddenly January 23, 2025. Born on March 27, 1957, he was the son of the late Francis J. Downey, Sr. and Rita C. Downey (nee Mantegna). He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Patricia “Patti” (nee Clarke) Downey. Fran was the devoted father of Allison and her husband, Nathan Stratton, Kimberly Downey and her fiancé Idir Moualfi, and Colleen Downey. He was adored by his two grandchildren Adam Clarke and Kendall Grace Stratton. He is also survived by his brother, Robert (Karen) Downey and his sister, Diane Downey. Uncle Franny was loved by his many nieces and nephews. Fran was a proud 1975 graduate of Upper Darby High School. He recently retired after 40 years at Quaker Chemical Corporation as a chemist. Fran was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He was a great neighbor and friend to those around him.

         Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Monday, January 27, 2025 beginning at 9am to 10:45am at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026 where his Funeral Mass will follow at 11am. Interment: Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery
