1932 - 2022

Irene Renee Santore ( nee Esposito), age 89, of  Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Rosewood Gardens Rehab & Nursing Center, Broomall, PA.   

Born on August 1, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony and Mildred (Gianonne) Esposito.  She was a graduate of Bartram High School.  

Renee worked for many years in the retail fashion industry as a clothing buyer for Gimbels and finished her career as an Asst. Manager for Marshalls.  She traveled extensively as a buyer.  Renee was an inspiration for women and a trailblazer for her time.  

Renee will be remembered as a happy, fun-loving soul with a “passion for fashion” and a zest for life.  In addition, she delighted in dining out and attending family gatherings and celebrations.  Renee loved food (especially pizza) and enjoyed a glass of Prosecco or a “Cosmo” at our family dinners.  She also loved movies (Turner Classics), going to the Theater, and listening to music.  Some of her favorite artists were Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, and Lady Gaga.  

Renee is survived by: nephew, Robert S. (Susan) Esposito of Danville, CA, two nieces, Valerie Rogers of Collegeville, PA and Andrea (Michael) Raquet of Collegeville, PA; great-nieces,Gina (Zachary) Vavricka and Lisa Raquet; great-nephew Dr. Robert A. Esposito; great-great niece Sophia Rose Vavricka; and cousin, Rita Colanzi, Ph.D.  Renee was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Paul Esposito (Josephine), and baby sister, Irene Esposito.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at Ruffenach Funeral Home,  4900 Township Line Rd., Drexel Hill,  Pennsylvania on Friday, August 5, 2022.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be held in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, Pennsylvania.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
