Jane F. Czerpak
1939 – 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jane Frances Czerpak, who died peacefully on July 15th, surrounded by her loving family. Full of love, laughter, and devotion she touched the lives of all who knew her.
Jane (nee McVaugh) grew up in Fairmount and graduated from Hallahan High School. She was one of eight children and always talked about how much she loved being from a large family. They were all close. After she and Ed Czerpak got married, they moved to Roxborough and raised their family on Martin Street. Jane volunteered at St. Josaphat’s School and helped children with reading. Once her children were all in school, she worked as a cashier at Rite Aid.
As a mother and grandmother, Jane proudly attended her children’s activities, cheering them on and encouraging them on their life journeys. She frequently spent time watching her grandchildren and enjoyed many vacations with them at the Jersey Shore. When asked what brings her joy, Jane replied, “my family” and that was true up until the end. She was also a devout Catholic who prayed the rosary and attended mass regularly. Jane’s faith got her through many of life’s challenges. She was also an avid reader who greatly appreciated audio books later in life when she could go no longer see.
Jane was preceded in death by her oldest daughter Lisa Estock, husband Edward, parents Thomas and Frances (nee Sheridan) McVaugh, and siblings Donald McVaugh, Thomas McVaugh, Bill McVaugh, Joseph McVaugh, Rita (McVaugh) Langdon and Marie (McVaugh) Bickert.
She is leaving a legacy through sons Edward (Karen) Czerpak, and Paul Czerpak, her daughter Diane (Michael) Santori, and her five grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Estock, Peter, Sophie and Isabella Jane Santori. Her sister Claire Shoemaker (McVaugh) will also continue to shine Jane’s light as they were best friends. Jane will leave an endearing impact on all who were blessed to have known her.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation 9-10:15am Saturday July 20th, 2024 at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026 where her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am. Interment Private
