Joan Moffa Obituary

   Joan M. Moffa

1941 - 2026

Joan Moffa, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 9, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born on January 21, 1941, and lived a life rooted in faith, service, and deep love for her family.

Joan was a proud graduate of Upper Darby High School. She dedicated many years to hard work and service throughout her career, including working for the railroad and Gimbels department store. She later continued her commitment to helping others through her work at the CK Center, where she eventually retired. Outside of her career, Joan had a true gift for bringing people together. She loved shopping, planning parties, and creating joyful gatherings for family and friends, always making celebrations feel special and memorable.

Joan had a generous heart and a strong faith. She loved to volunteer and was deeply committed to serving others. She proudly served as a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Benedict’s, a role that reflected her devotion, compassion, and desire to give back to her community.

Joan was the cherished daughter of the late Leo and Margaret Anderson. She was a loving sister to Phil Anderson (Lorraine) Trish Caplan (Ben) and Lee Anderson (Colette).

She was a devoted mother to her three children: Denise Salvatore, John (Kevin) Moffa (Gerri), and Lori Fritz (Steven). Joan’s greatest joy in life was her family, and she took immense pride in being a loving grandmother to Dana, Anthony, Justin, Maxine, and Jenna, as well as a cherished great-grandmother to her five great-grandchildren. She shared a special, loving bond with each of her kids, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She treasured every moment spent with them.

Joan will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and gentle strength. She had a way of making people feel comforted, heard, and loved. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she held so dear.

She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
