Joan E. Richards

1932 – 2026

   Joan Richards of Springfield PA via Lawncrest and Feasterville died on Sunday March 22, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years Lou.

   Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie Duchossois.

    Joan was a stay-at-home mom for many years but worked part time at Bauer’s candy store...the “sweetest” gig in Lawncrest. She ventured into the corporate world and began a career in the banking industry for First Pennsylvania Bank/Wells Fargo where she retired after 25 years.

    She was always ready for an adventure and never had to be asked twice to go to a store or for a ride.  She never met a shopping cart she didn’t love. 

    Spending time with her family was a top priority.  She will be enormously missed by her children Karen (Lou), Lois (Bud), Mike (Beth) Grandchildren Jason (Lisa), Jarett (Charlene), Ali (Brett) and Great Grandchildren Will, Abby, Rowan, Parker, Lucas and Rory. She was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Thomas.

    She was the strongest gal and never let anyone forget it. We should all be so lucky to have had the life she lived...always full of music, laughter, fun and love.

   Services will be held at the Ruffenach Funeral Home 4900 Township Line Rd. Drexel Hill, Pa. Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, April 25, 2026,from 9:30am to 11:30am. A memorial service will be held immediately after.

In memory and in lieu of flowers raise a glass or contribute to St Jude Children’s Hospital in her name.
