John Dukes Obituary

John Anthony Dukes Jr.
John is survived by his wife Joanne (nee beck), his sister Karen Rawlings, his daughter Destiny Borrelli (Jay), his son Joshua Dukes (Sarah) and his grandchildren; Gabriela Borrelli, Jay Borrelli Jr, Nick Borrelli and John Anthony Dukes IV. He is predeceased by his son John Anthony Dukes III and his Parents, John A. Dukes, Sr and Kathleen O'Donnell Dukes.
John lived a full life. He was a graduate from West Catholic High School and St. Joseph’s University. He was an Air Force Veteran, mailman, East Lansdowne Police Officer, Postal Police Officer, Swarthmore College Public Safety Officer, Swarthmore College assistant golf coach, former mayor of East Lansdowne Borough and an Author.
To know John was to know someone who was loving, funny and exceptionally kind. His warm smile and firm handshake were infectious, and he made everyone he met feel valued and cherished. Golf was one of John’s passions. He found joy and peace on the golf course where he would spend countless hours working on his short game and spending time enjoying the company of his friends. But most of all, John cherished his time with family and friends. Those moments of togetherness, filled with laughter and love are what he held most dear.
In his book “Dadders, Can I Pet the Whales?” he says “It’s all about family, whether it’s blood or not. Family is the most important thing in life”.
