John C. Stefanide, long-time resident of Glen Mills, Pennsylvania died on November 12, 2023, a few hours after his 90th birthday. He was born and raised in the City of Chester. He graduated from Miami High School where he lived briefly. He was the owner and operator of Chester Woodworking, Inc.located at 503 E. 7th Street.
He is predeceased by his parents, Carl and Kathrine (Hammond) Stefanide and his loving wife Patricia and grandson, Brian E. Stefanide. He is survived by his children, John J. Stefanide (Tatjana), Anthony C. Stefanide (Kelly), Lisa M. Dougherty (Dennis), Elizabeth T. Stefanide-Miscichowski (Richard) and Stephen F. Stefanide (Lisa), Carla Richetti, 15grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law Elizabeth (Betty) Parris and nephew, Sean Nuttall (Greta).
John took pride in hard work as a self-employed and self-made man. In retirement his favorite way to spend his time was enjoying time with his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday November 21, 2023 from 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas The Apostle Church 430 Valleybrook Road Glen Mills, PA 19342. His mass will follow at 11:00. Interment is private at the convenience of the Family. Luncheon to follow at Il Granio, Glen Mills.
