Joseph Mantegna Obituary

In Loving Memory of Joseph Thomas Mantegna

July 28, 1951 – April 19, 2025

Joseph Thomas Mantegna, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on July 28, 1951, Joe lived a life full of warmth, family, and community.

Joe was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Vincent Samuel Mantegna and Nancy (Lanfranchi) Mantegna. He grew up in a tight-knit neighborhood, directly across the street from his future wife, Kathleen A. (Higgins) Mantegna. Their love story began in childhood and grew into a lifelong bond. Joe and Kathy were together for over 50 beautiful years—a testament to enduring love, friendship, and devotion. They shared a life filled with laughter, faith, and a deep-rooted connection that inspired everyone around them.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen and their son, Joseph T. Mantegna Jr., with whom he shared a special and unbreakable bond. One of their greatest joys together was watching sports—cheering on their favorite teams, swapping stories, and enjoying countless games side by side. These moments were more than just a pastime—they were treasured traditions that strengthened their relationship and created memories to last a lifetime.

He is also survived by his loving siblings: Maria Mantegna, Vincent Mantegna, and Michael Mantegna (Ann). Joe’s family remembers him as a man who always showed up—with a kind word, a helping hand, and a heart full of love.

Joe will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, and the quiet strength and steady love he gave so freely.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Dorothy’s Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Joe by spending time with your loved ones, watching a ball game, and remembering the joy found in life’s simplest moments.
