Kathaleen Reavy Obituary

Kathaleen (Kathy) Reavy
Age 70
August 11, 2025

Kathaleen "Kathy" Reavy, of Cherry Hill, NJ, and formerly of Drexel Hill, PA, passed away on August 11, 2025, at the age of 70. Kathy was the fourth of twelve children born to John J. and Isabel (née Murray) Reavy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Michael J. Reavy, and her sisters Margaret Ann T. Reavy and Maureen T. Prowse.

She is survived by her siblings: Edward J. Reavy, Rose Mary T. Biehl, John D. Reavy, Daniel J. Reavy, Theresa R. Welsher, Isabel T. Burley, Thomas J. Reavy, and Marianne T. Curley, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Kathy’s family was her heart, and she carried the lessons taught by her parents—particularly the importance of family unity and pride—throughout her life.

Kathy’s deep Irish heritage was a significant part of who she was, and she took immense pride in her roots. Growing up, she was inspired by her paternal grandfather, Edward Reavy, a renowned Irish American fiddle player and composer. His music and legacy sparked Kathy’s lifelong love of Irish music and dance.

Kathy’s educational journey began in the Catholic school system at St. Charles Borromeo and Prendergast High School. She continued her studies at West Chester State College, where she earned a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 1977. Kathy’s passion for helping others was evident throughout her career. She began her career with the Camden County Office on Aging, but her true calling came in 1980 when she joined RN Home Care, later known as BAYADA Home Health Care.

Over more than four decades, Kathy became a respected leader in the field, contributing to the company in numerous ways. She opened her own service office in Cherry Hill, NJ, helped establish a formal Reimbursement/Collections department, and played a crucial role in the creation of the Legal Services Office. As a Division Director, she also took on the roles of Risk Manager and oversaw Employee Benefits and Workers Compensation units. Kathy’s leadership, compassion, and drive made her a trailblazer, earning her the admiration and respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Kathy was a true leader, tough-as-nails when she needed to be and had a confidence about her that was unmatched. She was dedicated to ensuring that her clients always came first and was fiercely loyal to her employees. Her legacy of hard work, compassion, and attention to detail will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working with her.

Outside of her professional life, Kathy was an avid sports fan, particularly passionate about basketball, a love she inherited from her father. She coached her sisters’ 7th and 8th-grade basketball teams and later became a certified high school referee. For 25 years, Kathy proudly supported her hometown team, the Philadelphia 76ers, as a season ticket holder.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA 19026, where her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment/Entombment will take place at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to No Kid Hungry at www.nokidhungry.org, a cause Kathy was passionate about.

Kathy’s love for her family, her tireless dedication to her work, and her generous spirit will never be forgotten. She touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
