1946 – 2025
Katherine “Kathy” M. Bevilacqua (nee Flannery), age 79,of Springfield died peacefully December 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents the late Thomas M. and Agnes (nee Blatt) Flannery, siblings Eleanor Flannery and Aileen Flannery. Kathy is survived by her loving husband Peter Bevilacqua, daughters Alicia (Andrew) Callos, Mary (Tim) Boppell, and Christine (Domenic) Sulpizio. She is also survived by her grandchildren Daniel Callos, Julia Callos, Stephen Sulpizio, Emma Sulpizio, Timothy Boppell, Joseph Boppell and her six sisters (Marianne, Jeanne, Diane, Pat, Lorie, and Aggie) and two brothers (Tom and Charlie).
Kathy was born in Philadelphia, PA and was the oldest of eleven children, sharing a lifelong bond with her siblings. She was married to her beloved husband Peter, for 57 years, a partnership marked by their commitment and loving support for each other. Together they built a strong and loving family, raising three children who were the pride of her life. She was also a cherished grandmother to her six grandchildren. Spending time with her grandchildren was so important to her. When they were young, she loved hosting tea parties for them and taking them on nature walks. Her grandchildren filled her life with laughter and love. She had a special way of making each one feel treasured and uniquely loved, whispering to them, “You are my favorite, but don’t tell anyone”.
A woman of strong faith, Kathy was an active member of St. Dorothy’s where she sang in the choir and found joy through music and worship. Kathy was always willing to volunteer her time to help others. She volunteered for the Little Sisters of the Poor, Ronald McDonald House and participated in the NARBW toy and gift drives for a local women’s shelter. Before retiring, Kathy worked for Chubb Insurance for over 20 years, where she built lasting relationships and was know for her dedication and reliability. Her favorite hobbies were quilting, baking and collecting cookbooks.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Friday, January 9, 2026 beginning at 11:30 AM at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026 where her Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00 PM.
