Leonora "Lee" Mamaluy Obituary

LEONORA "Lee" V. MAMALUY (nee Capizzi)

Leonora “Lee” (Capizzi) Mamaluy passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2026 at age 84. Lee was born in Philadelphia, which was her home for over 80 years. After graduating from St. Maria Goretti High School, she worked as a secretary and later as a paralegal for the Department of Justice. Lee was a devoted wife, sister, and daughter; a proud mother, grandmother, and aunt; a talented painter; and a steadfast friend.

Lee had a sharp sense of humor and loved to share a laugh. She enjoyed listening to Elvis, painting with watercolors, and reading poetry. She had a fondness for dogs, especially her precious Duke. In her home in Philadelphia, Lee maintained a beautiful garden full of roses and an eggplant or two. Some of Lee's favorite memories were of Christmas Eve dinners spent with her family and vacations with her husband, Walt.

She was loved by many and is survived by her brother Joe Capizzi (Nancy), her son Walter Mamaluy (Christie), her grandchildren Michael and Laina, her nieces Betsy (James) Colgan, Jean Capizzi (Micah Sachs), and Laura Capizzi, her grand-nieces and nephew Sophia, Annabelle, and Simon, and her dear friend Rose Slagan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Josephine Capizzi, and her husband of over fifty years, Walter Mamaluy.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing on Tuesday, March 17 at 9 AM, St. Thomas Of Villanova- Rosemont Chapel, 1229 E. Lancaster Ave., Bryn Mawr, PA. Funeral Mass to follow at 10 AM. Interment Oakland Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA.
