Lewis J McMillan of Kemblesville, PA, born October 6, 1938,passed away peacefully in Elkton, MD on August 23, 2025, atthe age of 86. He was the son of the late Jesse and Blanch McMillan and preceded in death by siblings Paul McMillan, Joan Keys and Betty McMillan.
Lewis served in the National Guard and later became a carpenter by trade at Newport Builders in Delaware. Lewis was a, do it yourself fix it guy, whether it be plumbing, electric or carpentry.
He loved horse racing and attended races at Delaware Park and Brandywine Raceway. He also was an avid Hunter, fishman and outdoor gardener.
Lewis lived for 20 years at Luther House where he helped with the general maintenance on the grounds. He was also the leader of the garden club where he took pride in his vegetable garden and the different structures he built to beautify the area. He was a happy person, always willing to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his son Daniel J Mahala and daughter in law Candena Mahala and his grandchildren: Joseph Mahala, Chloe Mahala and Gracie Mahala.
He is also survived by a son Lewis Smith and 2 grandchildren.
His stepchildren: Gus Mahala, Jay Mahala, Joseph Mahala, Linda Neilds, Joanne Kennedy and predeceased by Billy Dean Mahala.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 27, 2025 10am at the Kemblesville United Methodist Church Cemetery 1772 New London Road Kemblesville, PA 19350.
