Lois Jean Dougherty

1925 – 2022

     Lois J. Dougherty (nee Flora), age 96, a longtime resident of Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania, died peacefully on June 9, 2022. Lois was preceded in death by her beloved Fiorello “Fury” Ortolano. She was also preceded in death by her son Tom Dougherty and his wife Donna; her daughter Maggie (Jack) Dugan; and granddaughter Tracy Dougherty. She is survived by her loving children Anne (Raymond) Boynton and Rick (Donna) Dougherty. She is cherished by her 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren.

     Lois retired from Clifton Precision after 35 years of service as an electronics technician.  One of her proudest accomplishments was her contribution to the U.S. space program that landed men on the moon.  In retirement, she enjoyed both domestic and international travel and was able to take many trips with friends and family.  Her greatest pleasure was the precious moments she spent with family, especially during holidays and special milestones.  

     A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022, at 10:30 am at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, PA. There will be a viewing on Monday beginning at 9:00 am.  Interment will be in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Mansion at Rosemont Friendship Fund, 404 Cheswick Place, Rosemont, PA 19010.
