R. Louise Adams, age 93, of Oxford, PA, peacefully entered Heaven surrounded by her family
on December 27, 2024.
Born June 14, 1931 in Todd, NC, Louise was the daughter of the late Calvin Toliver and Biddie
Perkins Toliver. She was 1 of 9 children and sister to the late Earl, Elsa, Ray, Mason, Calvin Jr,
Alta Lee, and Herbert. She is survived by her brother Shirley Toliver of Todd, NC.
Louise met and married the late Franklin B Adams in April 1957. This union began their yearly
summer vacations and road trips to the western mountains of North Carolina. She has shared
her love of these mountains with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren ever
since. When given the opportunity, she would tag along on additional trips to her family home.
Her trips to North Carolina continued every year, her last visit being this past May.
Louise was always a giver. She provided a place to stay for those who needed it and was a safe
haven for her grandchildren who loved going to Mommom Weasie’s house. She lovingly cared
for all of them and never missed a birthday, graduation, or ball game.
In addition to her brother, Louise is survived by her children Gary Adams (Kelly) of Oxford, PA,
Carol Ritchey (Mark) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Sharon DiEmedio (Bob) of Bear, DE, and Karen
Pyle (Roger) of Oxford, PA; 8 grandchildren: Josh Adams (Karen), Jennifer Ferrara (Brian),
Jenna Geissler (Darren), Todd Pyle (Nikki), Tyler Ritchey (Rachel), Alyson Evaristo (Tommy),
Joseph Pyle, and Rebecca Dempsey (Jack); 19 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Robert
Adams III of Quarryville, PA; one sister-in-law, Elsie Parcell of Oxford, PA; and numerous nieces
and nephews up North and down South.
Louise is and will be missed by all of us. She has been reunited with countless family, friends,
and loved ones. Most importantly, she is, without a doubt, with her savior Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to United Methodist Church of
Oxford, 18 Addison St Oxford, PA 19363 or Willow Tree Hospice, 616 East Cypress St Kennett
Square, PA 19348.
