Marian Frances Johnston

Marian Frances Johnston, 93, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2025.

She was born the youngest of five siblings in Geneva, Illinois to Floyd
Johnson and Ida Shearin. She was the wife of C. William Johnston.
Fran, as she preferred to be called, spent most of her early years in
northern Indiana, migrating to Buffalo, New York with her husband Bill
and then to Chester County in her later years. She worked for many
years as an office administrator and manager in health and legal settings,
but her greatest passion was her beloved Skye Terriers. Fran and
husband Bill ran Silverspun Kennels, raising and showing numerous
champion Skyes. Fran was well known and highly respected in the dog
show world and will be especially missed by her Skye Terrier community.
Fran was preceded in death by her husband Bill, two brothers and two
sisters. She is survived by four daughters: Catherine Weaver of
Lancaster, PA, Cindy Johnston of Lewes, Delaware, Kelly Kostyshyn of
Earleville, MD, and Barbara Johnston, of South Bend, IN, three
grandchildren, Matt Wilson of Lancaster, PA and Ariel De’Angelo, of
Lewes, DE, and Zoe Mieli of Philadelphia, PA,  four great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A life celebration service will be held at the convenience of the family. If
