Marie L. (Pelliccio) Berenato

August 17, 1935 – July 12, 2022

     Marie L. Berenato (nee Pelliccio) age 86, of Newtown Square, died July 12, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents; James and Rose Pelliccio, and brother; James Pelliccio. Marie is survived by her husband Paul W. Berenato, her children; Paul Jr. (Maura) Berenato, Stephen (Jody) Berenato, John Berenato, Anne (Thomas) Esposito and Susan (Richard) Tecco. Also survived by her grandchildren; Stephen Jr., Nicole (Brian), Matthew, David, Henry, Julia, Samuel, Richard, Adam, Luke, Jack, Emily, Paul, Rachel, James, and Madeleine and great grandchildren; Brian and Nathan. Marie is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

    Marie was born Philadelphia and raised in Overbrook. She was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School class of 1953 and graduate of Chestnut Hill College class of 1957 where she earned her degree in Biochemistry. She and Paul moved to Drexel Hill to raise their family. She worked as a Chemist before changing careers to bookkeeper once the children were born. Marie was a member of  the bridge club, Mary Magdalen Seniors, and poker group. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and time at the beach. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her family. 

     Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing 6-8pm Monday evening, July 18, 2022 at the Ruffenach Funeral Home, 4900 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026 and a visitation from 9:30-10:30am Tuesday morning, July 19, 2022 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 2400 Providence Rd. Media, Pennsylvania 19063, where her Funeral Mass will follow at 11am. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation to Laurel House, PO Box 764 Norristown, PA 19404 would be appreciated.
