Michael J. Moran

   Michael J. Moran,  of West Chester died peacefully February 20, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his daughter Alicyn and  parents the late John and Elizabeth (Harris) Moran. He is survived by his beloved wife Mercedes (nee Downey) Moran, children; Jay (Wendy) Moran, Patrick Moran, Mercedes “Sadie” Moran, six grandchildren; Joseph, Tyler, Justin, Katherine, Mackenzie and Caetyn, a sister Kathleen Zungolo and brother John (Alice) Moran. 

    He was born in Philadelphia and later moved to Upper Darby where he graduated from Msgr. Bonner High School. After graduation he attended Quaker City School of Aeronautics. He served honorably in the Navy for four years. After the Navy he started his career in the technology field, where he worked for the same company for 39 years.

     He loved his time he spent outdoors, with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was an avid gardener, fishermen and enjoyed being in the salt air. There was nothing he could not  “fix”. Duct tape was his best friend. He was extremely loving and caring of others. He was always helping anyone wherever he could. 

         Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing 6-8pm Wednesday (February 28th, 2024) evening and to his Funeral Mass 10:30am Thursday (February 29, 2024)  morning at St. Dorothy Church, 4900 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026.  Interment will follow Mass at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery.

     In lieu of flowers we ask that a donation in his name be made to the make a wish foundation.
