Richard John Grande - age 82
Richard was the beloved son and only child of Walter and Stella (Gosson) Grande and was born in 1942 in Philadelphia. He attended La Salle College and was a Professor of English in Ohio, Wisconsin and at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, before returning to Pennsylvania, where he taught at Valley Forge Military Academy, Delaware County Community College, Montgomery County Community College, Penn State's Ambler Campus and La salle University before retirement.
He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Phillies and Eagles and was a regular at the Philadelphia Orchestra concerts at the Academy of Music and thereafter at the Kimmel Center. He also enjoyed classic movies and dining out.
He passed away in his home in November, 2024 and was cremated. His ashes will be buried with his parents at Holy Cross Cemetery, in Yeadon on March 19, 2025. Burial will be private.
He is survived by his cousins, Pamela Bogatin of West Chester, Joyce Hennessey of Aston, their children and grandchildren and the daughters of his fiance, Zoe and Aileen and their families.
