Rosalie (Menginie) Maggetti

Rosalie Maggetti (nee Menginie), age 84, passed away peacefully from this life on the morning of May 11th.  Rosalie was born in Philadelphia, PA. After her marriage to Carlo Maggetti, they lived in Broomall PA for several years with her mentally challenged sister, Marie. Carl, Rose and Marie moved to Ocala, FL and lived a happy life there for 30 years, enjoying the weather and many friends. Carl passed away in 2017 after battling Alzheimer’s disease. Rose lovingly took care of Carl at home throughout his illness.

Rosalie was a caregiver all her life. She started as a teenager, helping her mother care for nieces and nephews. She cared for her mother as she got older. She also made a lifetime commitment to her sister, Marie. As a child, she would include her when she went out to play and continually cared for her throughout her marriage and her life. Early in her life, Rose turned down a marriage proposal because the man she loved did not support her commitment to Marie. Later in life, she met Carl, a wonderful and kind man, who embraced Marie as family. It was a match made in heaven. Rose was a loving wife, sister and daughter. “Aunt Roe” was a wonderful Aunt to a myriad of nieces and nephews. She also had two dear friends in Ocala, Marilyn and Patrice, who were very kind and helped her through some difficult times.

Rosalie was the daughter of Josephine (Colasante) and Antonio Menginie and the beloved wife of Carlo Maggetti. She was predeceased by her husband Carl, her sister Carmella (Nick), her nine brothers - Johnny, Joe (Josephine), Al (Caroline), Mike, Tony (Florence) Nick (Anna), Bobby (Franny), Albert (Joanie), baby Joseph –her niece, Marie and four nephews, Anthony, Tommy, Jimmy, and Russell. Rose is survived by her sister, Marie, and her sister-in-law Catherine Mengini and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Wednesday morning 9-10 am at St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008, where her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 am.
