Stephen Francis Merlino

1923 – 2021

     Stephen F. Merlino age 97, of Media and formerly Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died April 28, 2021. He is survived by his daughters Dr. Stephanie M. (Robert M.) Cocchi, Carol (Richard) Latessa son Christopher (Candy) Merlino and six grandchildren.

     Stephen was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He served proudly in the United States Air Force as a Gunner on a B-17 for the 42nd Airborne during World War II. After returning from War he began a 30 year exemplary career at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard as a Draftsmen. When not working he enjoyed time with his South Philly String Band where he played the Banjo.

     Relatives and friends are invited to  his Funeral Service 10:30am Friday, May 7, 2021 at The Ruffenach Funeral Home, 4900 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026. Interment will be Private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Charity of the donor's choice.
