1942 - 2026

 

     Thomas J. Innes, age 83, of Cherry Hill, formerly of Drexel Hill, died peacefully July 30, 2026. He was pre deceased by his parents the late Frank J. and Margaret M. (nee Gilronan) , a sister Joan Dillon

and sister in law Maureen (Frank)  .

     He  is survived by his siblings : Peggy Wohrle (Carl) , James (Rachel),  Frank , John, Peter (Katie) and Joseph  and many nieces, nephews and friends .

    Tom was born in Philadelphia, where he grew up as the eldest of eight children, a role that shaped his lifelong dedication to family. A proud graduate of West Catholic High School, Tom entered the U.S. Army shortly after graduation. His passion for learning and service only grew over the years; after his Army service, he graduated from Rutgers Law School and went on to serve in the Navy Reserve. Combining a sharp mind with a caring heart, Tom went on to earn his Bachelor’s in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson Nursing School and worked as a nurse for many years. 

    Beyond his impressive achievements, Tom took immense pride in his role as a loving godfather to Matthew Kay, Andrew Samasiscio, his nephew Ryan Innes, and the late Patrick Gilronan.

    Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends, creating lasting memories over shared laughter and good food. A lifelong learner with an insatiable curiosity, he truly loved school and continually pursued his education across multiple fields. His happiest days were spent at the Jersey Shore, a place that held countless cherished memories for him.

   Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing 9-10:15 am Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Ruffenach Funeral Home, 4900 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am at St. Dorothy Church, 4910 Township Line Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026.

   Burial will be private .

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C
