John Edward Jackson died peacefully on March 1, 2020 surrounded by family. He was 81. He graduated from Oxford Area High School in 1956. He served proudly as an Army Ranger in the 82 nd Airborne Division. After serving, he worked nights at General Motors and spent his days building his family home in which he and his wife raised their family and resided for over 50 years. Upon completion of this proud accomplishment, he began his career as a carpenter in the Philadelphia Carpenter’s Union Local 465. John was kind, generous and had a great sense of humor. He loved hunting, fishing and golfing but most of all he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was an avid fan and attended all his daughter’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. John is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years Kathleen (nee Ferron) Jackson and daughter’s Beth (Gary) Lynch, Sherri (Rob) Griffith and Jonna (Ron) Davis. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing 10 am Friday, March 6, 2020 at Sacred Heart Church, 203 Church Road, Oxford, PA 19363 where his Funeral Mass will follow at 11 am. Interment will be at St. Malachi Catholic Cemetery.

'Uncle' John was one of the greatest men I've ever met. So many great memories of the times we spent together at deer camp (Along with the rest of the Hoop-N-Hollow crew). Memories & wisdom that will last a lifetime. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

It saddens me to hear of John's death. Though i have not seen or spoken with him or any the family in years, i have nothing but great memories. He truly was a great man who has left behind an amazing family! My heart goes out to Kathleen, Beth, Sherri and Jonah who along with John were shining stars in my life! Words cannot express my feelings! May god give all of you the strength to get through this.

So sorry to hear of John’s passing. I have fond memories of playing church softball with John and talking with him at his daughters sporting events. He was one of the finest men I have ever known.
Our thoughts are with Kathy and the girls and their families.
