Rosemary O’Hara

1929 -2021

Rosemary O’Hara, age 91, passed away on March 2.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend.  Rosemary grew up in Pittston, PA where she attended St. John the Evangelist High School and then Wyoming Seminary Dean School of Business.  She and her husband, John, raised their seven children in Springfield, PA and were active members of St. Kevin’s parish.

Rosemary could often be found in the stands of a sporting event where she loved cheering on her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, taking walks at the Jersey shore, and celebrating birthdays and holidays, especially Christmas, with her loved ones. She was warm, strong, playful, kind and had a great sense of humor- often laughing or making others laugh with her stories or “Rosemary-isms.”

Most of all she will be remembered for the extraordinary way that she loved her family.

She lives on in her children- Bob (Connie), Jack (Kip), Mary Ellen (Joe) Nardi, Tom (Maria), Pat (Sue), Mike (Georgina), and Chris (Sheila), her 19 grandchildren, and great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Rosemary Maughan, her sisters, Ellen Maughan and Kathryn Kemmerer, and her dear husband, John O’Hara.

The Funeral Mass was held privately on Saturday March 13 at 10:30am. A recording of the Funeral Mass can be found on St. Kevin's Facebook page.

To my O'Hara Cousins,
My heart goes out to all of you knowing that your Mother is no longer here on earth. Someday, we will be with her in Heaven, along with Ellen and Kitsy.
I loved your Mother's laugh and she laughed often. She made us laugh.
God bless all of you. We are keeping you in prayer. We love you.
Judy and Bobby

I forgot to add something important to Rosemary's message of condolence.
Rosemary always had outstanding grades, was chosen the May Queen at St. Mary Help of Christians School. She excelled in all that she undertook. She also excelled when events occurred that she had no control over. However, my Mother, Margaret Connell Loyack , once said to me "Rosemary is a class act." And SHE was. I just had to tell all of you what my Mother thought and she was right on. I love all of you. Judy
